Résumé of Ronnie Shelby – Accounting Consultant
Ronnie began his accounting career in September 1969 with a local CPA firm as a staff accountant doing monthly write-up work as well as sales, payroll and income taxes. He continued this line of work throughout his under-graduate years while attending and graduating Cum Laude from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting.
In June 1973, he began work for Big Eight firm, Arthur Andersen, in New Orleans, LA. In June 1974, he joined a family-owned wood products industry (Arkansas Oak Flooring Co, Pine Bluff, AR) as Controller for two years. During his tenure there he successfully defended the company against the IRS over an inventory valuation claim by developing a step-cost model for each stage of production from log procurement to finished products. In July 1976, following his attaining his CPA designation, he moved to Monroe, LA to begin a 38+ year career with former Governor James A. Noe and his family. Noe Enterprises, Inc. owned and operated WNOE AM/FM radio in New Orleans as well as KNOE AM/FM/TV in Monroe, LA. Over his career with the Noe family, he once again was successful in defending claims by various governmental agencies over sales, franchise, inheritance, estate and income taxes.
After securing his Life, Health, Property & Casualty Insurance licenses following his broadcasting career, he became a licensed producer for Mass Mutual as well as State Farm. This continued until an opportunity arose with Allen, Green, & Williamson, LLP in February 2018. His main responsibility is to work with clients in need of improving their current daily accounting procedures to enhance their ability to timely and accurately file all necessary reports as they become due.
Ronnie is the father of three sons and six grandchildren. He enjoys watching football, baseball, softball and golf.
